Nos Ania [noss AH-nee-uh] is a port city on the Ania Plateau in the Kingdom of Narette. It is the chief port and commercial and agricultural heart of the kingdom, the second largest city in Narette after Belisan.
The city of Ania was founded by the Annéan people, perhaps in the 4th millennium ME. As such it is one of the oldest cities in Narette. The city was built on a hill overlooking a semicircular bowl of land, with its port considerably lower than the city, protecting it from storm tides. Nos Ania is one of the few coastal cities to have survived rise and fall in sea level, as its historic centre was always far above sea level.

Used to date years Before the Modern Epoch. Annéans founded the city of Heth Ania, “New Ania”, on the coast to the northwest. Consequently the original city came to be known as Nos Ania, “Our/True Ania”.
Historically Nos Ania was the principle port of the old kingdom of Anrette, but today the lion's share of international trade goes to Belisan, with its bigger harbour and lack of import tariffs.
In the 8th century following the Long War, Nos Ania was a candidate in the royal plans to relocate the capital from the historic seat of Himéath. However the city was deemed too cramped for the planned new open capital of culture, with a new city being built at Heth Ania. Nos Anians have never forgiven this snub to their city.
