Kwato'or

Kwato’or (KWAT-oh-oor) is the six planet of Cordes in the Cronox System.

It is a gas supergiant, violent and beautiful, with titanic eternal storm systems coloured white and all shades from pale lilac to deep purple. It is a true giant, approximately 2.4 Jovian masses, so big that it causes the storm tidesplugin-autotooltip__small plugin-autotooltip_bigStorm tides

Storm tides are particularly high tides, often accompanied by storm surges and dangerous flooding, which occur on Helevos every 1.3 solar years when Helevos comes into conjunction with the giant planet Kwato'or. Storm tides are at their peak within a two week period, and at their most severe when accompanied by natural storms.

Helevos (also known as Vos, or Veeos) is a temperate terrestrial world, fourth planet of the star Cordes in the Cronox binary star system. The stars Cordes and Arjos are distant binaries, so on Helevos, Arjos is only seen in the northern hemisphere as star, sometimes bright enough to be seen during the day, circling roughly over the viridgreenAnásthiasAnásthiasAnásthiasgreen

of the so-called Godmenplugin-autotooltip__small plugin-autotooltip_bigGodmen

The Godmen were the mythical inhabitants of a landmass contiguous with the modern Natorn Archipelago, said to be the ancestors of all the Thalsic peoples of the northern Civilised World. In the Emerald Epoch they created the first great civilisation, referred to as the Realm of the Godmen. The Godmen are said to be mytho-historic, memories of an ancestor race shrouded by millennia of HartheraAnrelAnrelherherAnrelAnrel
of Helevos, since it was once seen as fourth planet from the sun (excluding Helevos, and counting Ra and Rahtair as one).

Tides

Kwato'or is so massive it has significant gravitational effects on the inner and outer solar system, with planetary orbits being inclined slightly towards it. On Helevos it causes particularly high tides whenever the two worlds are at periapsis, every 1.3 Helevos solar years. When combined with bad weather this causes storm tidesplugin-autotooltip__small plugin-autotooltip_bigStorm tides

Moons

Kwato'or has twenty-five attendant moons and a sparse ring system of rock and ice, which is not dense enough to be visible from the inner worlds. Most of its moons are captured rocky asteroids of various sizes, but seven moons are the size of small planets, and three of those have atmospheres, though no natural life.

The Cronoxi Syndicate maintains resource harvesting and research facilities throughout the moon system. There are no official Syndicate colonies, particularly because the violent electromagnetic emissions from the planet make life difficult without heavy shielding. Nevertheless there are also several degenerate colonies of Utopianists who reject Syndicate ethics.
