Atantic

Atantic is believed to be one of the languages of the ancient Godmenplugin-autotooltip__small plugin-autotooltip_bigGodmen

The Godmen were the mythical inhabitants of a landmass contiguous with the modern Natorn Archipelago, said to be the ancestors of all the Thalsic peoples of the northern Civilised World. In the Emerald Epoch they created the first great civilisation, referred to as the Realm of the Godmen. The Godmen are said to be mytho-historic, memories of an ancestor race shrouded by millennia of HartheraAnrelAnrelherherAnrelAnrel, or a family of languages, said to have been spoken in the Emerald Epoch, fifteen thousand years ago. Its relationship to Ahngrit, Linika and other ancient languages is unclear.

No complete texts survive from these ancient times, but the Aralsic languages are said to have descended from Atantic, with some words in modern Reidan sharing plausible roots in Atantic. The Tirennion is believed to have been originally written in a dialect of Atantic, or proto-Aralsic.

The great library at Rasia is said to have possessed a collection of prehistoric texts translated from other tongues of the Godmen, but knowledge of most of these is long lost to modern scholarship.
