Alternate name for Anrel.
.

Historically he was the patron deity of the great city of Oracil, and subsequently was revered throughout Anrel. In the early days of the modern Kingdom of Narette, the state worshipped all the High Gods, but nationalist resentment of the north led to a state cult of Besech, particularly during the Long War when whole cities and provinces were burned to his glory.

Although all the gods are now worshipped in Narette, the cult still evokes difficult feelings of Naretian nationalism. His worship is also found less often in Trésard, although hearthstones are still carved with this sigil and fires are still lit with his words. His worship is less ambivalent in the North, where is gift of fire is often a matter of life and death in the chilly highlands.

Besech is also associated with death, the hearth and the dry land that the departed travel to when they die.
