The Asokway are an Iskean-ethnic people living in the Natorn Archipelago and islands off the coast of Harthera. They are believed to be descendants of a breakaway or even proto-Iskean group who preferred to remain in the smaller islands of the archipelago rather than joining with the great civilisation of Traithe on the mainland of Anásthiasplugin-autotooltip__small plugin-autotooltip_bigAnásthias
Anásthias [a-NAS-thee-ass / ænæsθiːæs], or [an-ass-THEE-as] is an equatorial island continent, heart of the Civilised World. The north straddles the equator and is hot and humid, while most of the equatorial centre is an upland plateau with fertile river valleys, and stretches of arid plains and desert in the shadow of the mountains. The south is temperate but more wild, separated from the civilisations of the north by the almost impassable Harthera. In later times they were often displaced by Reidan peoples from the north of the archipelago, notably in Antyok in Besoa.

The concepts of race and ethnicity in the Civilised World are complex, related to issues of history, geography and culture. Some theories of the origins of humanity claim that all humans are descended from a single group of original ancestors, while others believe mankind is made up of distinct races with separate origins. The greatest surviving Asokway population is the Kokway people of Antyok. The Spines are inhabited by nomadic Asokway tribes who fish and farm an island for a year or so before moving on. The precipitous east coast of Anrel is inhabited by peoples with Asokway heredity, as are the uplands of Sareta in central Sensatard, although both groups are ancient migrants rather than truly indigenous. Sareta is unusual in that it is the only known Asokway population to have not retained their close connection with the sea, although they mainly live around upland lakes.
The Junda are often linked to the Asokway, but Junda were more likely descended from mainland Iskeans, though they share many cultural practices.
