Begeen [beg-EEN] is a city in the southeast of Trésard, close to the border with Narette. It was sacked and occupied in 219 ME in the first year of the Long War, and was the subject of five battles during which both sides took and retook the city, leaving it a ruined shell.

The Natorn Sea is a region of oceanic ridge, separating the Polassirn Ocean and the Redeeming Ocean. Islands in the ridge form the Natorn Archipelago.
Etymology
The name may be derived from ancient Ahngrit, meaning “near/of our birth”, referring to the legend of the Godmen in which humanity is said to have originated in region now lost beneath the sea. It also relates to the god.
The ruined city was the site of the Treaty of Begeen which finally ended the war in 263 ME.
The farmland and roads once surrounding the city succumbed to virid weed and became uninhabitable, but have now been re-greened. Begeen has resumed its role as a market town on the trade road between north and south, but it remains small and surrounded by ruins.
