It was established in 993 ME by Horis Capo, a printer of Besoan extraction, and Atto Windlas, a Harlonese tradesman. Since its humble beginnings in pamphlets and playbills, within fifty years it had become the most respected publisher in the country. The company pioneered the method of amberglass plate printing, making them the most successful publishing house in the world.
Today it is headquartered at 135 Amberglass Street, Harlon. The prestigious Harlon University Press is now an imprint of Capo & Windlass, producing school textbooks and primers used throughout the nation and beyond.
It's most famous publication is the Capo & Windlass Travel Series, essential guides for travellers and diplomats in foreign lands. Its most popular edition was the 3rd Series of 1114.
