The Clan Wars is a period in Anrel history lasting from approximately 3000 to 2500 BME. Following the collapse of the old urban society of Anrasard during the Celadon Epoch, perhaps eighty percent of the population died in flooding and famine. Old social structures entirely collapsed, and the refugees fled inland and formed clan groups, which fought each other for control of vital resources. Many of the clans were initially nomadic, but others developed settlements, many of which were the foundations of the later city-states of Anrasard.
