Etymology

The name may be derived from ancient Ahngrit, meaning “near/of our birth”, referring to the legend of the Godmen in which humanity is said to have originated in region now lost beneath the sea. It also relates to the god

Muthena was once a prosperous city surrounded by rich farmland, famous for its fruits, grains, and the abundant greenfish in its rivers. Its wealth was also based on its control of bridges crossing two rivers, on the important trade road that connected the Trenya Peninsula to Beyán and the southern cities of Narette.

Muthena was abandoned in the first century of the Beryl Epoch, when the surrounding lands were gradually swallowed by rising flood waters as the sea level rose.
