The shalar is a traditional Doroun garment, a tailcoat consisting of a form-fitting jacket with wide shoulders, and a square-cut tail or skirt that falls to the floor, partially enclosing the legs. The traditional shalar is closed with loop and stud buttons up the front, with a square-cut collar.
