The polma is a traditional Thalsic garment made from a single length of cloth, which today is particularly associated with the Shouft, the Great Pilgrimage of the Therist religion. Polma's are traditionally made of linen, but can be made of wool or other fabrics.

Polmas are traditionally three times the length of the wearer's height. They are versatile garments which can be wrapped around the body in many different ways: over the head to protect from sun and weather, or more simply around the waist and over the shoulder, the style most commonly worn by rural people.
During the Empire of Dor-en-Sann the wealthy developed more complex styles of clothing, with the simple polma reduced to kirtles or cloaks worn by peasant farmers and beggars. With the rise of Ororr, the polma was adopted as the simple clothing of pilgrims on the Great Pilgrimage to the holy site of Foratuna. Traditionally the pilgrim polma was made of simple raw linen cloth.
