Rettien has two distinct dialects. High Rettien is the language of the Ania Plateau and the nobility. It is considered a more formal language, the language of culture and literature. Low Rettien is spoken in the lowlands, central plains and mountainous east of the country. It has more Oracilem-Asokway influences, and is considered the rustic language of herdsmen, although dialects of Low Rettien are spoken across the lowlands.
