The validity of various Dialogues is a matter of debate within the Church. In The Journey, the Prophet clearly states that any other accounts purporting to be his beliefs cannot be relied upon, effectively invalidating anything he said earlier in his life. In particular he warns against any recorded sayings which are contrary to what he has written in The Journey or any later works, or comment on things he has not written upon. Nevertheless, many of the primary accounts of the Dialogues hold great influence and respect.

Editions

There have been various editions of the Dialogues, some including now discredited texts, or ordering them by credibility. The current Modern Authorised version only includes dialogues considered legitimate and relevant by the modern church.
