River Dor

The River Dor is a tributary of the River Wiyel, with a catchment area encompassing much of eastern Ororr. Throughout history it has been an important route for trade and communication, allowing the passage of people and merchandise between the Wiyel Basin and the eastern provinces of Galkesh and Gaskan.

The name means “The Golden” or “The Gold Road”, due to the riches of trade flowing along it. Control of the river enabled the second great expansion of the Gaal Empire, which later became the Empire of Dor-en-Sann.

The Doroun people and Doroun language are both linked to this river, though it is likely that the river was named after them, not vice versa, since ancient pre-Gaal sources gave the river a variety of different local names.
