Shamanism

Shamanism is an uncodified form of magic, whereby a practitioner is able to summon and instruct an elemental spirit using their natural human sympathies, rather than through thaumaturgical learning.

. Shamanism is a more freeform and organic experience, with practitioners variously using meditation, narcotics, ritual dancing and other activities to reach the shamanic state of mind.

Shamans then instruct elementals using things like mental images and mimetic gestures.

Shamanism requires no knowledge of thaumaturgy or any understanding of the nature of elementals. It can be imprecise and limited, since shamans have limited methods of telling elementals exactly what they want them to do.

Shamamic rituals can lead to the evolution of ordinary elemental spirits into gods.
