The Alsaneth Republic, also called the Alsaneth Commonwealth (official name The Hexactic Commonwealth of Alsan), was a historic nation occupying the southern half of the island of Besoa. The Republic existed from the overthrow of the old MEME.

History
Delgeth was the royal capital of the Kingdom of Alsan, with the kings of Alsan ruling from the splendid Delgeth Castle overlooking the river. After the revolution which formed the Alsaneth Republic, the government relocated to the industrial city of Helmeth, due to the city's loyalist sympathies. Delgeth was reduced to a provincial capital, with the old royal castle becoming a fortress, and then a prison. Today the castle is a gloomy ruin, looming over the old city.
During the Hartheran Occupation of the island, the Delgeth valley bore witness to many crimes including torture of political prisoners interned in Delgeth Castle, mass executions, and the forced prostitution of prisoners and local women in Hartheran “pleasure houses”.
