Historically the region was underpopulated, though nominally ruled by various scions of the Baronies of Ravorr. Junda settlers raided and eventually settled much of the coast from the 2nd century ME. The settlers resisted attempts by the Ravorrans to either expel or, crucially, tax the fiercely independent Junda, and the conflict eventually sparked the First Ravorran War, more often called the War of the Junda Coast.
