Mount Karmoqué

Mount Karmoqué is an active volcanic mountain on the island of Antyok in the Natorn Archipelago. The native Asokway people call it the 'God Mountain', and it is central to their animist spiritual beliefs.

Antyok or Antyoq [ant-YOK, uhn-CHOK] is an island in the Natorn Archipelago, due east of Besoa. It was formerly an independent nation, the Principality of Antyok, but since 1086 ME, following the Bizoan War, it is now under Hartheran dominion.

The Natorn Archipelago, or the Natorn Isles [nah-TORN], is a chain of islands in the Natorn Sea. The islands are oceanic ridge running from the northeastern tip of Anásthias to the Anrel Isles. The ridge is an active geological fault, many of the islands being volcanic.Anásthias

The volcano produces occasional tremors and is surrounded by active fumaroles. The eastern side of the mountain has bubbling mud pools that occasionally belch noxious, hallucinogenic vapours. Asokway shamen build wooden spirit huts on the side of the pools, breathing in the gases to produce visions, and occasionally dying in the process.
