Primitivism, or Manthi Primitivism, is a movement in the visual arts which began in Hesjbagaaia in the post-war reconstruction period following the War of Schisms.
Primitivism espoused using strong natural colours, traditional designs, and depictions of the natural environment and traditional way of life and the comforting emotions associated with them.
Foremost of the Primitivist painters was Virs Preisjistos, now most famous for his striking canvases showing the mountains, islands and fisherfolk of the Sea of Grace.
