The Verais is a river in Harthera, which flows from the Saloyan Highlands in the east, meeting the River Velun at the city of Vahltor.

Saloyan is an Eloyoun language, the principle language of the former Grand Palatinate of Saloya in northeastern Anásthias. A great many dialects existed, several of whom are still spoken in the Salyoan highlands. The majority of people in the region now have Hartraan as their first language.

Historially the Saloyans named the river the Verais all the way to the sea, while the Emanuné, and modern Hartherans, call the lower river the Velun. Consequently some old maps are mislabelled in modern terms, and historical sources, particularly from a Saloyan perspective, have to be read with caution when referring to the River Verais.
