  The talent or talen is the currency of Harthera. It began as a token system for paying indentured workers and militiamen under the Chelidt Overlordship, after the old Saloyan currency had utterly collapsed. The principle was that an unskilled labourer would earn one talent per day of labour, whilst more skilled workers would be paid proportionately more depending on the amount of time (and talents) invested in their training.
