Pentane was a graduate of naval engineering from the Harlon University. He joined the Corps of Engineers of the Hartheran Navy but was considered a dreamer and poor worker, and was passed out of the military. He made ends meet teaching classes at his old university. In his spare time he indulged in his passion of tinkering with machinery, much to the annoyance of his landlady.
