The Junda are an Iskean-ethnic people found throughout the Junda Isles and the northeast coast of Anásthias, whose conquest of the mainland led to the foundation of the modern state of Harthera.

Historically they were notable for their shamanic religion and unique calendar, the Junda stormscale.

Junda peoples commonly raided the coasts for food and goods, having little of worth to trade on their home islands. They were accidentally instrumental in the downfall of the people, and now part of the Hartheranplugin-autotooltip__small plugin-autotooltip_bigHarthera

Perudd is a peninsular region of northeastern Harthera, which marks the boundary between the Iskean Sea and the Redeeming Ocean. Politically it is part of the cordrome of Perudd and the Isles, meaning the Junda Isles, since the coast of Perudd was traditionally a territory of the Junda people.

Esigan is the largest island in the Junda Isles, roughly 200 km from the Hartheran mainland province of Perudd. It is approximately 125 km north-south and 150 km east-west. Its capital is the port of Jongaven, the largest and most important city in the Isles.

islands harthera (EH-sig-enn) is the largest of the isles, being 115 km east-west and 120 north-south. It is consequently the most metropolitan, being relatively close to the mainland. It was traditionally inhabited by the “Seven Tribes”, whose conflicts form a great deal of legend and literature. Jogaven [jong-GAV-en] is a city on the island of Esigan, the most important port in the Hartheran Junda Isles and its de facto capital.

Set in a large deepwater lagoon, the city is a strategic port for the Hartheran Navy. It is a hub for all trade within the Isles, a centre for shipbuilding, and a frequent stopping point for merchantmen trading between, which today is an important port for the Hartheran navy. ME is short for Modern Epoch, the modern method of numbering years. Esigan was subject to land clearance and mass immigration from the mainland, so relatively little traditional Junda culture remains.

Jokta and Kongad were historically one island, and are still connected at low tides during the storm season. The tribes of Jokta and Kongad were famous for clan wars and vendettas, with a fierce reputation as sea hunters.

The ancient Junda had a mixed religion, which developed over thousands of years. It combined ancient tribal belief in shamanic ancestor-worship with a wider nationalist mythology, in a cosmos containing a variety of gods. The Iskean are an East Thalsic people primarily inhabiting the northeastern coastal regions of Anásthias.
