Dragora

The dragora is a virid tree found in swamps and coastal salt marshes. The trunks are have characteristic scales that give them a repitilian appeareance, with glossy, spiny leaves and limbs. Storm tides are particularly high tides, often accompanied by storm surges and dangerous flooding, which occur on Helevos every 1.3 solar years when Helevos comes into conjunction with the giant planet Kwato'or. Dragora characteristically have multiple stems and aerial roots, forming a tentpole-like base which makes them stable and resistant to storms and floods. However they generally thrive in moist, stable marshy soils. They are found throughout tropical northern and western Anásthias, particularly in the low-lying coast west of the city of Toborr.

During the Jade Epoch deforestation of dragora stripped coastlines of their protection against storm tides, a widespread environmental disaster which particularly affected the Gadok province of Harthera, making large parts of the coastline uninhabitable.
