Munatan [Moo-Nah-Tahn] is the southernmost region of Anásthias, south of the Dun Trisan mountains. The name possibly derives from a ancient Thalsic, meaning “Land of One Sun”, since the daystar is not visible in the southern hemisphere. . Little is known about his background, but he studied Plosi astromancy at the school in Sjil. This laid the foundations for his philisophical journey.

He travelled widely, as far as Biinmos in the east and Veedormim in the west. Apocryphal stories place him encountering the famed oracle at Li-Vam-Aur, but this seems unlikely.

He published accounts of his journeys, both physical and philosophical, but only his central Dromean works survive. They were to be the key to a whole new era of scientific, religious and political thought.
