Belief Systems

Helevos has a wide variety of belief systems. The following are categorisations used by the Rasian Academy to classify different types of faith:

• Binitarianism - belief in two equal gods. (See the Binitarian Heresy, which relates to Therism)
• Deism - there is one supreme creator who is now remote from the universe. Anrelian Religion is arguably Deist, in that it believes in one long-distant creator deity although with many lesser gods
• Henotheism - there are many deities which can be worshipped, but there is one supreme being above them. The imperial religion of Dor-en-Sann is a prime example.
• Monism - there is one God, with many manifestations in different religions. This is a principle in Therism, though those of other faiths would consider this imperialist.
• Monolatry - worship of one god, whilst acknowledging the existence of others. The majority animist and tribal religions have this philosophy.
• Panetheism - the natural world is the physical manifestation of the one deity. This is a principle in Therism, as well as most animist traditions.
• Polydeism - many creator gods who are now remote from the universe
• Polytheism - reverence of a pantheon of gods. Anrelian Religion is fundamentally polytheistic, though may also be considered Deist.
