Dromond

Dromonds are heavy war galleys, principally used for by the Ororran military for coastal defence. They were the pre-eminent warships of earlier times, but today are considered unwieldly and archaic.

Dromonds have small sails but are primarily powered by oarsmen. As such they can be fast and manoeuvrable, and can be armed both with formidable artillery and a large compliment of fighting men for boarding action. However their low gunwales and small sails makes them unsuited to heavy weather or the powerful currents and high waves of deep ocean, limiting them to calmer coastal waters.
