Gerod of Ben Akir is the credited author of the eponymous Mysteries of Gerod, a series of accounts of mystical encounters with gods and spirits, revelations and prophecies. It is considered a holy codex by many who follow the Anrelian pantheon, since it describes the relationship of prayer and ritual which can be performed to attract the good graces of certain deities.

The Mysteries have been a part of Anrelian culture since at least the 6th century ME, though their authorship is reputed to be much older.
Ben Akir is the ancient name for the ancient metropolis located at modern Beyán, but the historicity of “Gerod” himself is much debated.
