Ifrit are seen in nature as dust-devils, sudden gusts of wind that blow grit in the eyes, or other unusual natural phenomena. The Mother Church is the state religion of Ororr, which combines both religion and government in one institution. these spirits are acknowledged as existing, but can be repelled by a strong faith, prayer, and the actions of priests.

Belief in ifrit is sometimes due to the presence of genuine elementals or even minor deitals, god-spirits with some semblance of consciousness. However, most belief in ifrit is simply superstition.
