topics sidebar cult1 and culture. The civilisation lasted from the 8th century BME to the 1st century ME. The rivalries between its two great coastal cities dominated its political history, with either Nepor or Clanisjpor holding the upper hand at various times.
The Rubaporat declined severely due to climate change at the start of the Modern Epoch, with changing weather patterns making peupra cultivation more uncertain. Falling sea level during the Little Ice Age isolated the two great cities from the sea except at the highest tides, limiting trade. Compounded by refugees fleeing westward from the dying Empire of Dor-en-Sann, the ancient Manthi dominance of the region eventually came under control of the new Ennseperan Empire.
Cities of the Rubaporat competed with each other to produce fine artworks, including poetry, jewelled cups and metalwork. Fine artefacts from the Rubaporat are still highly prized, and traded as far as Harthera and the Natorn Sea.
