The Terath Family is a political dynasty whose name holds enormous power and prestige in Harthera. It is one of the two great powers of the modern epoch, arguably the most technologically and militarily powerful nation in the world, only matched by the vast size and wealth of its neighbour, viridviridOrorrMEOrorrOrorrOrorrOrorr.

Today the head of the clan is Harthera's de facto head of state, despite holding no formal position in government other than a number of hereditary courtesy titles. However, various family members hold key positions and sinecures in many branches of government, giving the clan effective control of government policy.
The Teraths claim descent from the rulers of the ancient civilisation of Traithe, though in reality most Iskean families probably had ancestors from Traithe. The modern clan has hundreds of offshoots denoted by a suffix, or occasionally prefix, the Terath, Trathera and the Trath-haan being the most prominent aristocratic families.
