The Vóshan people call the region Voshárn, after themselves, but the similarity of the words causes confusion. Officially the region is named Voshárn by the government of Ororr, but it is commonly called Mordan, from the old pejorative name for the tribal raiders, the Mordant.
The province is synonymous with the Vóshan people, a Jorothi-ethnic tribal society inhabiting the region during the Beryl Epoch. They were a fiercely violent agrarian society, with raiding parties crushing rival clans and marauding as far as the cities of the Narlorn valley.
The Great Prophet began his great mission to unite Ororr by pacifying and uniting the warring tribes, which conquered the Narl Valley, the Siltorn Republic, and eventually the remainder of the old empire.
