Little is known about Ahngrit as a language. Only fragments of Ahngrit texts survive, mainly referenced in ancient sources, either as translated quotations, or technical terms for people, places and things that are long lost.
Some radical philologists at the Rasian Academy suggested that Ahngrit was not in fact a single language, but a number of different languages.
