The Kingdom of Heronbar (c.1700 BME - 36 ME) was one of the historic Four Kingdoms of Besoa. At its height it controlled more than one quarter of the island of Besoa, as well as the islands of Iluns, Antyok and southern parts of The Spines. Terab, also called by its Iskean name Teraq, is the capital city and main port of the island of Antyok. It is officially a Protectorate of the Hartheran Navy, who claim to administer the island on behalf of the native Ko-kway people. In practice the city and the island are essentially under MEHartheran, leading to intense conflict with the Kokway who relied on the area for fishing and perennial food crops. Kokway numbers were decimated by starvation and conflict with the Heronbaht colonists, an animosity which continues to this day. This feeling was exploited by the Hartherans, who exploited their claims of “Iskean brotherhood” to invade the island, displace the old Heronbaht aristocracy and set up an Kokway puppet government.
