Gorval
Gorval, also called Gobal, is the most northerly province of the region of Gaskanin in northeastern Ororr, occupying the Gorval Peninsula and its hinterland. Its people are traditionally called the Gobalay. The province consists of rugged coastline with hundreds of rocky islands, and uplands with an ancient green ecology. It is primarily an agrarian backwater which has changed little since the most ancient times. Its major city is the port of Jé Gamel.

History
Gorval shows evidence of human habitation from early in the Jade Epoch, inhabited by the earliest migrants who moved westward from the old Iskean heartlands. Its landscape was not conducive to great civilisation so it remained a sleepy backwater between old Iskea and the Issid Block States to the west.
Its isolated people were considered savages who raided and warred on each other, so late in the Gaal Empire, Gobalay mercenaries were recruited as guards to the imperial court. With their fierce martial strength, the Gobalay played a significant role in the formation of the Empire of Dor-en-Sann.
