The Natorn Archipelago, or the Natorn Isles [nah-TORN], is a chain of islands in the Natorn Sea. The islands are oceanic ridge running from the northeastern tip of Anásthias to the Anrel Isles. The ridge is an active geological fault, many of the islands being volcanic.Anásthias.
After the defeat of Alsaneth and Sannalese forces and their surrender to the occupiers in 1090, many armed fighters refused to submit, and formed multiple guerilla bands. The greatest opposition was initially led by the surviving councillors of the Alsaneth Republic, secretly headquartered in deep mines in the Alteim Mountains of the southwest. The leadership eventually pulled together opposition groups under a combined command.
The name “Silver Tree” was chosen to combine the national symbols of the two former nations, the silver banner of Alsaneth, and the golden tree of Sann'al.

The Hartheran Union, commonly named Harthera, is an imperialist maritime nation state dominating the northeast of Anásthias. It is one of the two great powers of the modern epoch, arguably the most technologically and militarily powerful nation in the world, only matched by the vast size and wealth of its neighbour, viridviridOrorrMEOrorrOrorrOrorrOrorr settlers, murdering the occupants and burning homes and fields. This bloody campaign served to discourage Hartheran colonisation of the island, but caused famine because of the unoccupied farm land, and through reprisals from the occupying government who executed initially two, and later ten locals for every one Hartheran killed. This decimated the island's population, leaving Besoa a ruined and depopulated land.
