the Duchies rebelled, formed a confederation called the United Duchies. After Deltirot joined the Empire of Dor-en-Sann, and then became part of Ororr, Vildon was better known as the Free Duchies, for opposing what they considered the fanaticism and oppression of the new Mother Church.

The core territory of the Free Duchies was inundated with fleeing refugees and imperial armies retreating westward during the conquests of the Mother Army, which created modern Ororr. Many of the core duchies were overwhelmed or actively supported the old empire. The imperial remnants took over most of the Free Duchies, within only lands in the distant foothills staying nominally independent until the second century MEplugin-autotooltip__small plugin-autotooltip_bigModern Epoch (ME)
