Ororr [o-ROARR, ɒ̝rɔ'ɾ], also called the Holy Motherland of Ororr, is a theocratic nation in Anásthias, one of the world's great powers. It the largest nation in the world, perhaps the largest empire in history, occupying the entire northwest of the continent between the mountains and the sea. Binitarians declare that the Great Prophet was himself divine, the manifestation of the Male Principle, equal in status to the Mother Goddess, and that his protestations of non-divinity were a test of faith. According to Binitarians, the Mother created Therion to be her husband and counterpart, creating a balance in nature that the heavens previously lacked. The Mother was passive and unconscious, allowing the world to continue without conscious intervention. The Prophet is conscious and active, and prayers addressed to both of them will lead to intervention and answers.

Dualist beliefs like this have roots in ancient fertility cults which flourished in the old Empire. The old Imperial religion was henotheistic, tolerating a plurality of deities and beliefs. Following the growth of the Mother Church, folk belief in the divine nature of the Prophet became widespread in the centuries after the Prophet's departure.
