Munatan [Moo-Nah-Tahn] is the southernmost region of Anásthias, south of the Dun Trisan mountains. The name possibly derives from a ancient OrorrOrorrOrorrHartheraHartheraOrorrOrorrOrorrHartheraHartheraHartheran

It is an agrarian nation of limited development, a patchwork of towns and green settlements interspersed with hills and dense virid forest. The terrain has made it difficult for neighbouring powers to either invade or develop, so that despite its vast size the nation remains isolated, insular and sparsely populated.

Despite their Essep identity, the population had significant contact with neighbouring La-Bam peoples, so Inkuszi tend to be taller and paler than their Gildot cousins. The few urban areas have a merchant class descended from Hesjbagaaian colonists, and there is also a Manthi minority in the southeast of the country.

History

Essep people migrated to the region towards the end of the Celadon Epoch, settling here around 3000 BME. They established a patchwork of tribal fiefdoms that warred with each other for resources, much as they had in their homeland of Gildot. From the 4th century BME the region was claimed by the Ennseperan Empire, with regional overlords claiming colonial possessions and building new roads and fortified trading outposts to establish their rule. Colonial rule relaxed during the War of Schisms, and in the 9th century a series of popular uprisings overthrew the sleepy feudal system, forming villages into collectives inspired by ideals of ancient Essep tribal joint rule.
